The Circle

We are a group of concerned world citizens who join our diverse national and international backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to discern effective ways to address crucial global problems of our time.

We are convinced that these global problems, be it the threats to the integrity of our planet, the rise of violence in all its forms, the persistence of poverty, the emergence of a world divided between “the have and the have-nots” are linked. A renaissance of the human spirit is needed to overcome these problems. Such a renaissance would usher in a selfless consideration of the Other, a Love that embraces all in a common humanity and Nature as the center and circumference of Life.

We are also convinced that such a renaissance requires the participation of all persons of good will and the enlightened leadership of national states and international organizations responsability pursuing the common good and fostering, dignity, compassion, integrity and humility must be fostered.

Having our origins in the United Nations we believe in international cooperation and multilateralism, and in the development and enforcement of international law. We beleive in the necessity for peoples of the world to share common core values stemming from time-honored philosophies and religions and embedded in our diverse cultures.

The Circle maintains a small core membership that reflects broad geographic representation as well as diversified backgrounds and experience, knowledge of a relevant field and concern for the cultural, moral, and spiritual dimensions of life. Membership is by invitation.
